On Oct. 18 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at R.K. Smith Middle School, St. Charles Parish Public Schools, will sponsor the annual Preschool Reading Carnival. All children 5 and under are invited to attend an event aimed at building literacy awareness through fun learning activities and storytelling. Mother Goose will make a surprise appearance to tell a few of her favorite nursery rhymes, and there will also be a puppet show.
Representatives from Early Steps, the health clinic, the fire department, the public library and the sheriff’s office will provide important demonstrations and information for families. All children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. Each family attending will receive a bag filled with surprises along with a chance to win some fabulous door prizes.
