Join the wizarding world at library lock-in

DESTREHAN – With the release of the newest and final Harry potter movie this weekend, the East Regional Library will be transformed into the world of Harry Potter on Saturday – complete with the shops of Diagon Alley and Hogwarts common rooms.

Participants will take part in O.W.L. Jeopardy, go to quidditch practice, attend a divination class, make potions and compete for the House Cup. The Harry Potter Lock-In is for teens ages 12-18 beginning on July 16 at 7 p.m. and ending Sunday, July 17 at 7 a.m. Films based on the series of books by J. K. Rowling will play during the event.

“We’ve never tried a lock-in before…the staff seem really excited about it though,” said Amy Boling, young adult librarian. “I think it’s going to be great.”

Those wishing to attend the lock-in must have a parent or guardian sign and return a permission slip to any St. Charles Parish Library branch by July 15. Permission slips and information packets are available at all branches and online at scplteens.wordpress.com.
