It’s ‘Food for Fines’ month at libraries

LULING – St. Charles Parish Libraries are holding Food for Fines during the month of April.

In an effort to give something back to the community, the libraries will collect non-perishable foods which will be donated to the parish’s food bank.

Patrons are encouraged to bring in food items to clear their fines, which can be for overdue items or for accrued overdue charges.

The library is asking that you donate one item for every dollar you have in fines.

The following items are specifically needed: canned fruit, canned milk, cereals, small jars of jelly and small cans of meat.
