Help replace blood for Luke Zeringue

ST. CHARLES PARISH – Destrehan’s Luke Zeringue will undergo cardiac surgery due to two medical deficiencies – Factor I and Factor II – both can result in bleeding whenever his factor levels fall below normal. Hemorrhaging can occur after a trauma or surgery, so the blood is needed a head of time.

All blood types are needed. To donate blood you must be in good health, at least 17 years of age and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.

There is no upper age limit. Wait one year after a body piercing. Individuals with high blood pressure (below 180/100) or controlled diabetes can now donate. If you have medical questions or have been out of the country since 1980, call The Blood Center’s West Bank Donor Center at 504-263-1190 or Metairie Donor Center at 504-887-2833 to see if you can donate.

Please state at the time of donation “Replacement donation for Luke Zeringue.”
