DESTREHAN – The German Coast Farmers’ Market’s “Best of Preserves Contest” is scheduled for Saturday, July 11 at the market at Ormond Plantation on River Road in Destrehan.
The contest will be divided into different categories, allowing each contestant to enter more than one division.
Judging criteria includes the quality and appearance of the product. Products must be labeled to include the name of the preserve along with the month and year that the preserve was made.
Entries must be self-preserved by the contestant and participants must sign up for the event prior to the contest date.
The East Bank market hours are 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday.
