EAST BANK – Beginning Aug. 4, emergency food and shelter federal funds are available for East Bank residents of St. Charles Parish to assist in paying utility bills, mortgage or rent assistance.
Residents who applied for assistance in 2007 are not eligible for 2008 help.
Eligible residents meeting the following criteria may qualify: 1. Must be facing an emergency crisis, such as loss of income due to illness, reduction of work hours, etc. and 2. Must be a resident of St. Charles.
All residents qualifying for utility assistance must provided their current bill and disconnect notice.
All residents qualifying for mortgage or rent assistance must provide past due, foreclosure or an eviction notice.
Residents meeting these guidelines may call the St. Charles Parish Department of Community Services at 985-764-7944 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
