DHS student holds fishing fundraiser

ST. CHARLES PARISH – Destrehan High School senior D.J. Rebstock will host the Christina Sternberger Curtis Fishing Tournament in honor of his grandmother as part of his senior project. Half of the tournament proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society and fellow student Madison Tully, who recently underwent a bone marrow transplant.

The tournament will take place on Oct. 30 at the Bonnet Carre Spillway. The payout will be 50 percent of the proceeds collected with prizes awarded for the heaviest five bass stringer, an optional big bass category and optional no bass category. Entry fee is $50 per team of two and $60 on the day of the event. Entry into the optional categories is $10 each. There will also be a childrens division with entry costing $10.
