Cookie Sale to help rebuild camps damaged by Katrina

New Orleans- It was the efforts of Girl Scout entrepreneurs in the first Girl Scout Council of Southeast Louisiana-sponsored Cookie Sale in 1969 that helped the Girl Scouts build Camp Whispering Pines in Independence.

Now, 37 years later, with Girl Scout Camp Covington and Camp Whispering Pines damaged from Hurricane Katrina, the Council is relying once again on its young members to hold a successful Cookie Sale, which began January 21.
