LULING – Do you make the best gumbo or the tastiest jambalaya? Test your skills! Enter the battle and win the paddle on Oct. 1 at the annual cookoff.
The event is open to the public with a $5 entry fee that allows you to eat all you can. Soft drinks are $1 and beer is $2.
Gates open at 3:30 p.m. Games and music from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The following awards will be given: people’s choice, best jambalaya and best gumbo. The first place teams in gumbo and jambalaya win the battle and take home the coveted paddle.
A $50 participation fee is required to teams to compete. Each team receives four participation gifts.
