BOUTTE – The Ladies Auxiliary of Luling Post 3750 is sponsoring “Operation Valentine” to raise money to ship care packages and Valentine bags to troops deployed afar on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wal-Mart in Boutte.
The group, which will sell yellow ribbons for $2 at the event, also encourages residents to write uplifting and encouraging letters and Valentines to the soldiers. A drop-off box will be on location. Stuffed animals will also be collected.
