LULING – The Luling American Legion Legion Post 131 will host a “Mr. Charlie Oubre Memorial” blood drive with Ochsner Blood Bank 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., American Legion Hall, 103 Milling Ave., Luling.
All donors will receive a 50th anniversary Saints Blood Bank T-shirt. All donors are encouraged to eat a “healthy” meal before donating and should bring a photo ID. Individuals taking medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol can donate. The American Legion is also collecting items for the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home.
New items needed include T-shirts that are large, X-large, 2X-large, puzzles (1,000 piece), drawstring pants (medium and large), Hershey bars, hot Styrofoam cups, Kleenex, men’s slippers (various sizes), toothbrushes (soft), toothpaste, Efferdent denture cleaner, denture adhesive, cough drops, shampoo (regular size), and white crew socks.
