Wrestlers taunt crowd, smash each other at fundraiser

Last Saturday night at the VFW Post 3750, Company Commander Bobby Lovergne put on one of the most interesting fundraisers of the year.

Old-school Wrestling Entertainment put on a show for the crowd with seven matches on the night. Throughout the event, the wrestlers taunted the crowd, crashed into tables and smacked each other around all for the crowd’s enjoyment.

In the first match, Carlos Dominican retained his Heavy Weight Title against Rod Price, while both wrestlers in the second match (Ashton Spears and Josh Spartan) were disqualified.

The Fourth match featured Wade Hebert of Paradis performing as his alter-ego  Half-Breed.

Hebert joined T-Wolf of Houma in a tag-team match against Big Mouth and Turbo Rider.

Half-breed and T-Wolf used moves off the ring post to take the match.

“I’ve been doing this for the past 25 years and love it,”   Half-breed said. “We have traveled across the country and Louisiana to help raise money for different organizations.”

The money the organization raises goes towards sponsored youth and veteran events.

The next two OWE events are on May 14 and June 4 at the Luling VFW Hall.

Anyone wishing to attend can call (504)-234-5857 in advance to reserved ring side seats.
