Two St. Charles Parish residents attending St. Charles Catholic High School recently received collegiate athletic scholarships.
David Bleakley – St. Charles Catholic – Football
Signed with Mississippi College
David Bleakley, a St. Charles Parish resident who plays for St. Charles Catholic, will continue his athletic career at Mississippi College. Bleakley, who starred at defensive tackle, was a member of the Comets’ state championship team in 2011 and was a defensive leader last season.
Brandon Zimmer – St. Charles Catholic – Football
Signed with Louisiana College
Brandon Zimmer was St. Charles Catholic’s starting fullback last season and he resides in St. Charles Parish. Zimmer mainly served as lead blocker in the Comets’ offense, but he also has good hands that make him a receiving threat.
