Tigers throttle Bonnabel 25-0 to open district play

After an impressive 10-2 win over Holy Cross on Saturday, the Hahnville Tigers took care of business in their first district game Tuesday, throttling Bonnabel 25-0.

The Tigers are now 12-12 on the season and have won their last six games.

The Tigers put Holy Cross away using a five-run fifth inning. Tyler Lamers doubled to bring in three runs in the frame and finished with four RBIs after going 2-for-4 from the plate.

Easton Melancon drove in two runs for the Tigers, while Connor Lorio and Tyler Simmons each finished with an RBI.

Brooks Vial got the win for Hahnville, giving up two runs on nine hits in seven innings. Vial finished with four strike outs.

Hahnville scored 13 runs in the first inning and 12 more in the third to cruise past Bonnabel for their first district win.

Lorio led the team from the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs. Melancon was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Simmons drove in three runs with a home run.

Dylan Keller and Cody Farrell also got in on the action, with each finishing with two RBIs and a double.

Jake Cologne no hit Bonnabel through four innings, earning the win after striking out six. Jared Laque pitched one inning of relief, allowing no hits and striking out one.

The Tigers will travel to play East St. John on Thursday at 4 p.m. before returning home to host Assumpiton at 1 p.m.
