Tigers finish 7th at Episcopal Round Table

In the second meet in a row that had some of the best competition in the state, the Hahnville Tigers cross country team turned in another impressive performance at Baton Rouge’s Highland Park.

Hahnville finished in seventh place in the Episcopal Round Table, just behind perennial cross country powerhouses such as Jesuit, Brother Martin, Ascension Catholic and Episcopal.

Catholic of Baton Rouge, which only had one runner in the top 10 but had four others in the top 25, won the meet.

The course was waterlogged from heavy rains the night before and the times reflected that. The winner, Bryan Stamey of Episcopal, finished the 3-mile course in 15:32. Hahnville’s Robinson brothers, Beau and Bryce, turned in times of 15:42 and 15:48, respectively. The duo finished in fourth and fifth place.

Other finishers for the Tigers included Nicholas Lirette (18:01), Bailey Breaux (18:37), Shawn Maher (18:44), Patrick Phelan (19:15) and Jose Portillo (19:47).
