Tiger track stars impress at district meet

Dutchtown swept the District 6-5A district championship, and while Hahnville and Destrehan didn’t place in the top three in either girls or boys action, the Tiger track stars put up some impressive performances.

Megan Duronslet, a Hahnville pole vaulter, won a district championship by clearing 8 feet, 6 inches. Teammate Michelle Montet cleared 7 feet, 3 inches to finish fourth and also qualify for regionals.

Lady Tiger Princessa Cummings won the district championship in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.63. She was also fourth in the long jump.

Another pair of Tigers also sped and jumped their way to regionals.

Hahnville’s Dyranelle Robinson won the long jump and the triple jump, and Jamare Joseph won the 300 hurdles
