At Destrehan High spring sports are ON
The Destrehan baseball teams had a practice and an inter-squad game. Before the practice the players’ fathers got together and prepared the field. It was such tedious work that those dads that did not wear work gloves got blisters.
Coach Marty Luquet has high expectations for his team this year.
He says, “After an outstanding summer record of 19-5 and the summer team playing older teams, we are looking forward to something special this year.
“Expectations are always high because I can always see us winning the state championship.
“We will use the pre-season to try and find the right people to put in the field and then we’ll make a run for the state championship.”
