Bad news – Ponchatoula nips Hahnville in season finale; Good news – Lady Tigers post 20-7 record for the year

GAME. Ponchatoula Green Wave, 2 – Hahnville Lady Tigers, 1. The game was played home at Tiger Stadium Jan. 31.

HOTSHOT. The “Golden Boot Award” goes to Tara Mince, outside wing, for outstanding performance in the game. Her crosses were kept the Ponchatoula defense on their toes.

SPARKPLUG. Courtney Speice also gave the Green Wave a run for their money in the mid- ield. She played aggressively, helping to contain Ponchatoula’s high-powered offense.

BIG PLAY. Offensive mid, Ashley Eusea, used her estimable foot techniques to slip one past the Green Wave goalie, and tie the score 1- 1 in the first half.

MISCUE. Though the Lady Tigers fought hard, they fell short during the second half when the Green Wave was awarded a free kick outside of the box, and scored as a result of a miscommunication error.

FYI. With a District Championship under their belt, the Lady Tigers closed the season with a 21-0-7 record.

WHAT NEXT. Now the Lady Tigers look for next season to improve upon their past record in hopes to advance higher in the play-offs.
