DHS band serves up jambalaya

The Destrehan High School’s Band Parents club is hosting a jambalaya dinner on Sunday, March 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.The $5 plates will be served at the concession stand at Wildcat Stadium and will include corn, bread, and dessert.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds from the upcoming band competition trip to Dayton, Ohio on April 19.

Fireman’s Association holds golf tourney

The St. Charles Fireman’s Association wants you for their annual benefit golf tournament held on Friday, April 27 at the Willowdale Country Club.

Proceeds will assist parish firefighters with life threatening illnesses exceeding incurance coverage.

COA Annual Fishing Rodeo on tap this month

The St. Charles Parish Council on Aging’s Annual Fishing Rodeo is scheduled for Friday, March 30 at the Spillway Park Pavillion in Norco from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for all residents over 60.

Attention golfers: Nicholls needs YOU

Nicholls State University is holding the 16th Annual Bonnie J. Bourg Lecture Series Golf Tournament on Sunday, March 18 at the Bayou Country Club in Thibodaux.

The entry fee of the tournament is $300 per team or $75 per person. One mulligan per player is $10.

The Louisiana Razorbacks football team is holding tryouts for men 19-30.

The team is an adult amateur minor leaague football team.

The team is a member of the North American Football League.

Hahnville High School is host the Don Raymond relays March 16 at 3:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium on Highway 90 in Boutte.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Adult kickball team is looking for new members

The WAKA Kickball team is now registering new members for its co-ed adult kickball division in New Orleans.

Registration for the LA Triumphs is $60 and open to individuals, small groups and full teams.

Kick-off is Thursday, May 3 in Audubon Park at 6 p.m.
