R. K. Smith Middle School band students had the opportunity to audition for the District 7 All Youth Honor Band in Thibodaux on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Over 200 students auditioned with only 25 being chosen. Tahjai Strickland, 7th grade student, won a bass-clarinet chair.
The Youth Honor Band will perform a concert on Saturday, Jan. 19, at H. L. Bourgeois High School in Thibodaux.
