Players of the Week 11-24-2010

Ahmad White and Tyren Hills

Ahmad White
Hahnville – Position RB

Ahmad White has been the Tigers’ top offensive player all year, and finished his high school career with an 87-yard performance against an extremely stingy St. Thomas More defense. This year, STM has shut down opposing running backs and Hahnville head coach Lou Valdin knew it would be difficult to run on them. While White didn’t score a touchdown, his punishing runs kept several Tiger drives alive. White rushed for more than 100 yards in almost every game this season and was one of his team’s emotional leaders throughout the year.

Tyren Hills
Hahnville – Positon CB

Hahnville junior cornerback Tyren Hills came through with two huge plays in the post season. In the Tigers 35-31 victory over West Jefferson, Hills knocked Buccaneer receiver Patrick Bethley out of bounds at the 2-yard line to preserve his team’s win as time expired. Then, in Hahnville’s 35-14 loss to St. Thomas More, Hills had a blocked punt that was returned by fellow cornerback Jerqwinick Sandolph for a touchdown. The score brought the Tigers to within a touchdown at 21-14.
