Dillan Dent
Destrehan – Position QB
Though the Wildcats lost 27-8 to Lutcher last week, sophomore quarterback Dillan Dent showed steady improvement in his second game of the year. Dent rushed for 119 yards on 30 carries and scored his team’s lone touchdown. Dent, who led his team to a 14-12 victory over John Ehret in his first start, played receiver for Destrehan during the first three games of the year. Due to a suspension, Dent was called upon to serve as the team’s quarterback and has played well.
“He has done everything we’ve asked him to do,” Destrehan head coach Chris Stroud said.
Bryan Singleton
Destrehan – Positon DL
Though only a junior, defensive lineman Bryan Singleton turns a lot of heads because of both his size (6’3, 245) and his quickness. Against Lutcher, which has one of the most explosive offenses in the state, Singleton proved to be a terror to the Bulldog offensive line. Singleton was constantly in the back field disrupting plays and helped his teammates keep Lutcher running back Daniel Taylor from the endzone.
“We told our defense that Lutcher would be a big challenge for them and they responded,” DHS head coach Chris Stroud said.
