7 area schools go for the gold in Hahnville’s ‘Don Raymond Relays’

Hahnville High School hosted the 2009 Don Raymond Track Relays on March 28, with Hahnville and Destrehan’s boys teams placing second and third overall.

Seven schools participated in the relays, Hahnville, Destrehan, Jesuit, East St. John, McMain, St. James and Belle Chasse High. Here are the results:

In the boys 4×200-meter relay, Destrehan took first at1:30:49, followed  by Hahnville in second with 1:31:18. In the same event, Hahnville’s girls placed at third, with Destrehan at fifth.

In the 1600-meter run, Tyler Robert of Hahnville took third place, followed by Daniel Marse at ninth. Destrehan’s Evan Beatty and Marc Rios also placed in the event.

In the 110-meter hurdle, HHS’ Bryce Deruise came in first at 14.84, followed by DHS’ Brian Blackwell at 15.00. Dadrion Tiurcuit placed third for Destrehan.

in the 110-meter dash, Destrehan’s Henry Lenox placed first at 10.99 followed by Jude Allen at third with 11.14.

Holdine Pablo came in at third for the 800-meter run at 2:15:83, and Kanesha Taylor placed third for the girls.

In the 400-meter dash, Destrehan’s Eric Johnson placed third at 52.61. In the 4×100-meter relay Hahnville also placed third at 51.33.

And Destrehan and Hanville took all three top places in the 300-meter hurdles. Brian Blackwell in first at 39.71, Bryce Deruise in second at 42.12, and Jamere Joseph in third with 42.48. Destrehan’s Tiurcuit placed first for the girls at 52.98.

Hahnville’s Aspen Jack placed second in the 200-meter dash. Destrehan’s Henry Lenox come in at second place for the boys.

Both HHS and DHS took top spots in the boys 4×400-meter relay.

Rickia Preston put HHS in third place for the discus throw and at first for the girls shot put. Ashton Johnson came in at second for Destrehan.

Hahnville’s Da’Mon Scott placed second in the boys high jump. Patty Cloud and Jamara Celistan placed at second and third for the girls.

In the boys triple jump, Scott came in at first place. Destrehan’s Anitra Dabney placed at second for the girls.

Susan Naquin and Megan Duronselet placed at second and third for the pole vault for HHS.
