Mimosa cruises to huge swim meet win

The Mimosa Dolphins cruised past Bellemeade in their first swim meet of the year with several swimmers winning multiple first place awards.

Alexis Tamplain and Vincent Tamplain each finished first in three events, while Anna Fuselier, Evan Fuselier, Sarah Gassen, Rhett Comeaux, Annemarie McMillan, Ashley Cheramie and Mikey McQuire came in first in two events.

Mimosa nearly doubled Bellemeade’s score, capturing a 684-361 victory.

Alexis Tamplain won first in the girls 13-14 freestyle, the backstroke and the butterfly. Vincent Tamplain won in the boys 15-18 butterfly, backstroke and the breaststroke.

Anna Fuselier finished first in the girls 8 and under butterfly and the freestyle, while her brother, Evan Fuselier, won the boys 6 and under freestyle and backstroke.

Gassen finished first in the girls 9-10 backstroke and freestyle, while Comeaux came out on top in the boys 9-10 freestyle and butterfly.

Mikey McQuire captured first place finishes in the boys 11-12 butterfly and the freestyle and Annemarie McMillan won the girls 9-10 butterfly and breaststroke. Ashley Cheramie finished first in the girls 11-12 breaststroke and the butterfly.

Other top finishers included Marissa Gilbert (11-12 freestyle), Tony Corley (15-18 freestyle), Sophie Bourgeois (6&U backstroke), Vladimir Furl (9-10 backstroke), Mikey McGraw (11-12 backstroke), Kylie Dufrene (8&U breaststroke), Preston Bourgeois (8&U breaststroke), Jarrett Phillips (11-12 breaststroke), Logan Tauzin (13-14 breaststroke) and Jay Madden (13-14 breaststroke).
