LSU pitchers visit J.B. Martin

Louisiana State University Baseball Pitchers Kurt McCune, a graduate of Destrehan High School, and Aaron Nola, a graduate of Catholic High School Baton Rouge, visited J. B. Martin Middle School to give a motivational talk to students about the importance of hard work in the classroom.

McCune and Nola shared with students how valuable it is that they work hard in the classroom to keep good grades and the way that can transition to the baseball field in the form of success. They shared how setting a high standard in the classroom was important to the process of consistency on the field and in life. Students were reminded that they are entering a time in their lives where making decisions good or bad can have consequences or rewards on their dreams and aspirations. McCune and Nola also answered questions that ranged from practice schedules and technique to grades and expectations at the college level. Students were able to see and touch equipment that college players use and ask questions about experiences that the pitchers have had.
