Hahnville High School graduate, Laron Byrd, visited Hahnville during his semester break and spoke with about 15 freshman student-athletes about the importance of school.
His message was simple, “If you hit the books hard as a ninth grader, when you become a junior or senior there will be less stress in your life.”
He stressed the importance of character, making the best of each class and always being respectful to everyone, especially your teachers. Byrd is currently playing football for the University of Miami.
HHS seniors, Wendell Boyd and Jai Steib also spoke to the students about the challenges they have faced and the lessons they have learned from them.
