Lady Wildcats stretch win streak to 9 games, improve district mark to 7-1

The Lady Wildcats have been on a tear following a tough loss to Hahnville, reeling off nine wins in a row.

The Destrehan Lady Wildcats (16-5) have been on fire, winning their last nine games on their way to a 7-1 district record.

Last Wednesday, Destrehan kept their win streak in tact with a dominating 10-1 district win over H.L. Bourgeois.The Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off a triple by Alexa Williams, and went on top 2-0 in the second after a double by Julie Scheuermann.

In the fourth, Morgan Foret doubled to score Williams, and in the fifth the Lady Wildcats got two more runs on a single by Casey Desentz and another RBI double by Foret to take a 5-0 lead.

H.L. Bourgeois finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth, but Destrehan added some cushion to their lead with a three-run sixth inning.

Krista Robles singled in one of those runs, while Desentz singled through second to drive in both Anna Hall and Robles.

Destrehan’s final two runs came in the seventh inning after an RBI triple by Hall, who later stole home to give her team a 10-1 win.

Desentz led the Lady Wildcats from the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Foret finished with two RBIs after going 2-for-4 from the plate.

Robles picked up the win for Destrehan, giving up six hits and one run in seven innings. She struck out four in the game.Destrehan 7    Terrebonne 1

A day after routing H.L. Bourgeois, Destrehan cruised past Terrebonne, 7-1.

The Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the second, added two more runs in the third and scored two runs in both the sixth and seventh innings on their way to the victory.

Amanda McNaughton, Desentz, Gabrielle Marks and Bailee Hurm each recorded an RBI in the victory.

Robles picked up the win after giving up eight hits and striking out five in seven innings.

The Lady Wildcats trailed early but scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on their way to an 8-4 win Monday over John Ehret.

After John Ehret took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Wildcats got one of those runs back in the bottom of the frame on a triple by Williams that plated Robles.

Destrehan tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by Scheuermann, and took the lead an inning later by scoring five runs.

Robles singled to give the Lady Wildcats a 3-2 lead in the fifth, and Williams jacked a three-RBI home run to put Destrehan on top 6-2.

Scheuermann later singled in Destrehan’s final run of the inning.

John Ehret cut into the lead by scoring two runs in the sixth to make the score 7-4, but the Lady Wildcats added another run in the bottom of the inning off a Hall single.Robles forced three put outs in the top of the seventh to seal the win for Destrehan.

Williams led the Lady Wildcats from the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Scheuermann went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Hall also drove in a run in the victory.

Robles gave up 12 hits but struck out five in seven innings for the win.

Robles picked up another win a day later in her team’s 5-1 victory over Thibodaux.
