Lady Wildcats fall to Terrebonne

Mallory Laumann and her Destrehan teammates are pushing forward as district play begins.

The Destrehan Lady Wildcats saw their volleyball season come to an end Tuesday night after Terrebonne won in three straight sets in the second round of the state playoffs.

Terrebonne, who is the fifth seed in the state, won the first game 25-18, overpowered Destrehan in the second game 25-10 and then finished off the Lady Wildcats 25-17 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Destrehan, who finished the season with a 29-12 record, had advanced to the regional after defeating Bonnabel 25-7, 23-25, 25-10, 25-16 last week.
In that game, Michelle Haydel had 17 digs for Destrehan and  Alexis Keller had 29 assists,  Dadrion Tuircuit had five blocks and Nicole Haydel had five aces.
Terrebonne will now face Dominican in the quarterfinals on Nov. 12.
