Lady Tigers win 4 straight to stretch record to 13-3

It was a good week for the Hahnville Lady Tigers, who picked up wins against H.L. Bourgeois, Menard, Byrd and South Lafourche to improve their record to 13-3.

After going down 1-0 in the first inning against Bourgeois, Hahnville rallied back in the sixth inning to tie the game. The Lady Tigers took the lead in the top of the seventh off a two-run double by freshman designated hitter Kamryn Keller to hand H.L Bourgeois a 3-1 loss.

Senior pitcher Lauren Beadle recorded the win for Hahnville.On Friday, The Lady Tigers met at Frasch Park and picked up a 1-0 win. Winning pitcher freshman Karly Taranto held Menard scoreless on a three hitter.

Freshman Courtney Ortego beat feet on a bunt and advanced to third on a Menard error. Not to be out done by her little sister, Junior Kelly Ortego bunted her in to score in the only run of the game.

The Lady Tigers ended their three game road trip with a decisive 4-0 shutout win over C.E. Byrd High School.Beadle pitched a five hitter to help secure the win. Sophomores Pryscilla Prince and Maeson Martindale both had excellent days at the plate.

Hahnville head coach Gerry Nugent said the team’s pitching was excellent, the defense played great and they had timely hitting.

“We played some great ball these past three games,” Nugent said. “It showed a lot of toughness and focus to bounce back from a tough loss at East Ascension. It was a complete team effort this past weekend.”

Hahnville throttled South Lafourche 15-0 on Tuesday.
