Lady Tigers score 56 runs in four games

The Hahnville softball team stretched their win streak to 18 games after beating Cabrini, Bonnabel, Morgan City and East St. John last week.

The Lady Tigers scored 56 runs in the four wins to improve their overall record to 20-1. The team has not lost since a Feb. 27 defeat to St. Amant.

 

Hahnville 12 Cabrini 1

 

After a slow start against Cabrini, Hahnville’s offense exploded for 11 runs in the final three innings for a 12-1 victory.

The Lady Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the third thanks to a Cabrini error, but stretched their advantage to 4-0 in the fourth after a two-run home run by Taylor Hogan. In the fifth, the Lady Tigers took an 8-0 lead on an two-RBI single by Pepper Baker and a costly error by Cabrini that brought in two more Tiger runs.

In the bottom of the sixth, Hahnville officially put the game away. Maeson Martindale doubled in two runs while Laney Cancienne singled in Martindale a few batters later to give Hahnville the double-digit win.

Beadle picked up the victory for the Lady Tigers, giving up only two hits and one earned run in six innings. She struck out seven in the contest.

Hogan led Hahnville from the plate, finishing with three RBIs on two hits. Baker brought in two runs while Madison Fremen and Martindale each had an RBI.

 

Hahnville 19 Bonnabel 0

 

The Lady Tigers needed only three innings to destroy Bonnabel 19-0. Hahnville took a 3-0 lead after the first inning, but scored 16 runs in the second in the victory.

Hahnville’s Megan Bush had a monster game from the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and seven RBIs. Lauren Simar was 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs and Hogan, Kaylyn Morales and Fremen each drove in two runs.

Beadle picked up the win, throwing 40 strikes in three innings while giving up one hit. She struck out four in the game.

 

Hahnville 11

Morgan City 0

 

The Hahnville Lady Tigers scored 10 runs in two innings on their way to a 11-0 win over Morgan City.

The Lady Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the second on a double by Baker and stretched the lead to 6-0 in the third due to four Morgan City errors. Hahnville put the game away in the fourth by scoring five runs. Martindale came through with an RBI single to make the score 6-0 and three more Morgan City errors did the rest of the damage.

Baker led the team from the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Simar, Martindale, Bryce Button and Cancienne each brought in one run in the rout.

Beadle once again picked up the win, giving up two hits while striking out two in five innings.

 

Hahnville 15

East St. John 0

 

The Hahnville Lady Tigers picked up their second district win of the year by blanking East St. John 15-0.

Hahnville scored five runs in each of the first three innings to end the game early due to the mercy rule.

Bush and Fremen led the team from the plate, with each player recording two RBIs on two hits. Bush’s two hits were both doubles. Button and Baker also finished with two RBIs.

Morales, Kelly Ortego, Caitlyn Robinson and Cancienne each drove in a run for Hahnville.

Beadle picked up the win, striking out six in five innings.
