The Destrehan girls basketball team picked up their six win of the season with a 28-25 victory over St. Mary’s.
The Lady Cats took an early 8-3 lead in the first quarter, but St. Mary’s stormed back in the second with a 10-2 run that gave them a 13-10 halftime lead.
In the third though, Destrehan regained control, outscoring St. Mary’s 14-5 in the quarter to regain the lead.
In the fourth, Destrehan only managed four points, but was still able to hold on for the three-point victory.
Lady Cat senior Paige Rochelle lead her team in scoring with 14 points. Laci Dent added 8 points and Troi Payne finished with 4 points.
Areion Banks also contributed to the win with 2 points.
The win moves the Lady Cats to 6-6 on the season.
