HMS wins parish title

After losing four of their five starters from last year’s squad, many weren’t sure if Harry Hurst Middle School could capture another parish championship.

And while the team did lose one game this season, they were impressive throughout the year as they won their third straight parish title.

Several players stepped up and contributed to victories this season to give the Roadrunners the parish championship with a 5-1 record.

The year closed with a 41-37 victory over R.K. Smith and then a dramatic 41-39 overtime victory over J.B. Martin to secure the outright title.
