After a 4-0 start, the Hahnville Tigers lost their first game of the season to Ellender 43-57 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl CYO Classic.
The Tigers took control early in the game and led throughout the first half after shooting 50 percent from the floor and outrebounding Ellender 13-10.
But in the third quarter, the Patriots (6-1) rallied late in the third quarter.
Dylan Parfait hit two 3-pointers towards the end of the quarter, and Ellender was able to take a 35-34 lead with 30 seconds left on a layup.
The Patriots then went on a tear, outscoring Hahnville 22-2 for the remainder of the game for the 14 point win.
Ellender was led in scoring by Trevon Lewis, who finished with 22 points. Joe Wheaton and Kardero Dixon each scored 10 points to contribute to the victory.
Jauries Thomas led the Tigers with 20, and Warren Lebeauf added 12.
