HHS boys improve to 2-1 in district

The Hahnville Tigers picked up two big district wins last week, knocking off both East St. John and Destrehan to improve to 7-4-1 on the season.

The Tigers traveled to East St John last Tuesday and came away with a 5-2 victory. The Tigers scored in the 1st, 10th, 38th, 60th and 70th minutes of the game in a continual offensive assault. Bryan Bennet led the team with two goals, while Johnathan Schmaltz, Cody King and Mitchell Eilers each found the back of the net.

After the big win, the Tigers took on rival Destrehan and shutout the Wildcats, 2-0.

Forward Bennet scored the games first goal just six minutes into the contest off of a corner kick taken by Reid Gautreaux.

The game remained close due to outstanding goalkeeper play by Mason Boyer, who posted his fifth shutout of the season.

The Tigers secured the win with less than five minutes to play with their second goal of the game coming from Dylan Ryals.

Along with their 7 – 4 – 1 season record, the Tigers are 2 -1 in district play.
