HHS boys dominate Saints swim meet

Lady Tigers finish third

The Hahnville boys’ swim team cruised to a win in the Saints varsity swim meet, beating St. Charles Catholic, St. Martin’s and East Jefferson.

The Tigers finished with 552 points while St. Charles Catholic came in second with 381 points.

The Hahnville boys finished on top in several individual races. Warren Massimini won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.40 and also finished first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:15.35.

Blaise Wise had the fastest time in the 200-yard individual medley and Tony Corley took home top honors in the 50-yard freestyle.

Vincent Tamplain dominated the field in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.26 and also won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.24.

Joe Foucha won the 100-yard freestyle while freshman Earle Madden cruised to a win in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Tigers also sped past the competition in the relays, winning the 200-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle.

The Hahnville girls finished third at the same event with a score of 325. The St. Charles Catholic girls took home the victory after finishing with 552 points.

Hahnville freshman Alexis Tamplain won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:14.77. The Lady Tigers also finished first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:21.80. Members of the relay team included Kayli Mato, Hannah Ditcharo, Tori Mato and Alexis Tamplain.The Tigers will swim again on Saturday in a meet at UNO.
