Hahnville running back named team MVP in state all-star game

Hahnville senior Rickey Preston put on quite a show in his final high school game.

Preston, who played for the East team in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association All-Star game, rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown while catching two passes for 16 yards.

Despite Preston’s performance, the East team lost to the West all-stars 24-14.

The West took a 24-0 lead into the fourth quarter, but the East scored two touchdowns in the final period. One of those scores came on a 13-yard run by Preston.

Preston has already committed to Nebraska over offers from Southern Miss and McNeese State.

The East squad was coached by Hahnville’s Nick Saltaformaggio. Other players who took part in the game included LSU commits Bry’Keithon Mouton (Acadiana), Xavier Lewis (East St. John) and Jazz Ferguson (West Feliciana).
