Mistakes and penalties plagued Hahnville’s efforts Friday night, requiring the offense to put in extra work in a 59-35 victory over Terrebonne.

The game was a drama from start to finish. Terrebonne returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and immediately attempted an onside kick, one of four on the night.

However, Hahnville answered with an aggressive run game that culminated in a touchdown from sophomore Davonte Clark. Clark, who is emerging as a long-ball threat, would also contribute a key conversion on a fourth down with roughly two minutes left in the first, pushing in a second touchdown before the end of the quarter.

Terrebonne attempted to respond with it own rushing game, relying heavily on the legs of quarterback Justin Theriot, who also connected on a 33-yard touchdown pass. Terrebonne scored five touchdowns in the game, but most of those came in a neck-in-neck first half. Hahnville took the lead before the end of the half, 35-28, and the defense would ensure it was held.

At the beginning of the second half, Hahnville placed greater faith in sophomore Austin Perrin’s arm with a drive composed of predominantly pass plays. That drive ended with one of Perrin’s three passing touchdowns of the night.

The other five Tiger touchdowns were divided among the running corps, including a two-touchdown night for running back Drew Dunn, who dashed for a 47-yarder into the endzone. Running back Devonte’ Cravin contributed two more touchdowns.

As the second half wore on, Terrebonne attempted to go to the air. This resulted in Hahnville’s last touchdown, a tipped pick-6 by linebacker Peyton Robert. This put the Hahnville’s homecoming game in the win column, 59-35.
