Hahnville Lady Tigers drop 3 in a row at Live Oak tourney

The Hahnville Lady Tigers softball team played hard all weekend according to head coach Jerry Nugent, but just couldn’t overcome three top 10 teams.

The first game against Live Oak, HHS lost 8-4 by getting outhit. Freshman Karly Taranto recorded the loss for Hahnville.

In Game two against Dutchtown, the Lady Tigers went down 7-5 despite a 2-for-3 performance at the plate that included a home run by junior Maeson Martindale.

“We just couldn’t overcome early defensive errors,” Nugent said.

Senior pitcher Lauren Beadle recorded the loss for Hahnville.

In game three it was East Ascension who got the better of HHS, squeaking by with a 2-1 victory.

“We struggled with timely hitting this weekend,” Nugent said. “I believe that’s what made the biggest difference in the win/loss column. That being said, we have young talented roster that has a lot of fight in them. I have no doubt we will bounce back strong from this.”
