Hahnville High AFJROTC aim high at national competition

The Hahnville High School AFJROTC Varsity Drill Team competed in the American Legion & Coca Cola National Invitational Drill Meet in Montgomery, Ala. The HHS Flying Tigers competed against 70 teams from 12 states in 12 events.

HHS’ demilitarized exhibition team placed 8th and the Facsimile Exhibition team placed 10th.

Overall the varsity team came out in 14th place for the meet.

Team members are: Aubrey Faulkner, Evan Champagne, Tiffany St Pierre, Hannah Cheramie, Elisabeth Wade, Kimberly Bourque, Melania Foret, Jennifer LeLeaux, Joshua Noehl, Amanda Chester, Daniel Terrebonne, Kirby Landry, Jacob Ruiz, Shai Williamson, Alaina Miquez, Anna Martin, Jaranea Gordon, Taylor Manuel, Clay Boutte, Cora Thomas, John Pierre DuRousseau, Jeffrey Briner, Noah Miquez, Ryan Granier, Matthew Bolfa, John Fowler, Matthew Finstad.

Hahnville’s varisty drill team also competed in the Pershing Rifles Invitational State Drill Meet on the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge.

The team competed in seven events earning honors in five of those events.

The following awards were received: Unarmed Exhibition – 3rd place, Armed Regulation – 2nd place, Armed Exhibition – 1st place, Overall Unarmed Team – 3rd place, Overall Armed Team – 2nd place, Overall Drill Team – 2nd place.

Noah Miquez place 2nd in the Individual Armed Exhibition Event.
