Hahnville golfers place second in Cox Communications Invitational

The Hahnville High School girls and boys golf teams competed in the Cox Communications Invitational last weekend at Willowdale Country Club in Luling.

There were 15 boys teams and 5 girls team that competed, a total of 82 golfers.

Both HHS teams placed second in the tournament with Andrew Noto awarded as a low medalist.

The results are: Boys – Mandeville High, 309 – 309 = 618, Tournament Champion; Hahnville High, 312 – 310 = 622, Runner -up; Jesuit High, 316 – 318 = 634, Third Place; St. Michael B.R., 328 – 328 = 656, Fourth Place. Girls – Chapelle High, 192 – 199 = 391, Tournament Champion; Hahnville High, 200 – 197 = 397, Runner-up; Mt. Carmel Academy, 220 – 205 = 425, Third Place; Ursuline Academy, 230 – 235 = 465, Fourth Place.

Individual results: Boys – Andrew Noto, Hahnville High, 70 – 71 = 141 (3-under par), first place; Austin Gutgsell, Mandeville High, 70 – 77 = 147, second place; Blake Kelley, Mandeville High, 76 – 74 = 150, third place; Werlin Prosperie, Hahnville High, 78 – 74 = 152, tie in fourth; Myles Lewis, Jesuit High, 81 – 71 = 152, tie for fourth; Garrett Westbrook, St. Michael, 76 – 76 = 152, tie for fourth.

Individual results: Girls – Brooke Braun, Chapelle High, 76 – 78 = 154, first place; Allie Petit, Hahnville High, 85 – 89 = 174, second place; Allison Kippers, Zachary High, 93 – 94 = 187 third place; Elizabeth Suss, Hahnville High, 115 – 108 = 223, fourth place.
