The Hahnville Lady Tigers blew past STM on Friday, knocking off the defending champions 8-0 to reach the semifinals.
Hahnville will now play the winner of the Barbe/Dutchtown quarterfinal at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the semifinals.
The Lady Tigers took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when two runs scored on a hard hit ball by Elise deBruler that was ruled an error. In the bottom of the third, Hahnville increased the lead to 3-0 after Taylor Webre blasted a double deep to the outfield to score Hope Mair.
In the fourth, Hahnville broke the game open by scoring three runs on two base hits and an error in the bottom of the inning, and in the sixth Mair officially put the game away by blasting a two-run homer that scored deBruler.
