Fishing for Frankie

LULING – The 5th Annual Memorial Fishing for Frankie Bass Tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 and will benefit Noah E. Townsend and his family.

Noah Townsend is the 2-year-old son of Casey and Brad Townsend.

He was diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy in February 2013. Soon after the diagnosis, the family was forced to transfer to Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) in Houston to await the transplant. He will have to remain inpatient at TCH until he can receive his much needed new heart. The proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the family to assist them with the expenses.

The Fishing for Frankie entry fee is $100 per boat (2 persons per boat) and the tournament will take place at Pier 90. There will be a $10 per boat optional big bass pot that will pay back 50 percent. Tournament check-in will begin at 4:30 a.m. at Pier 90. Participants must be back at Pier 90 by noon on Aug. 10 for weigh in. Entrants must have a fishing partner and a valid Louisiana fishing license to be eligible to compete. Registration is from now until the day of tournament. The payout will be 50 percent of the fees collected. The number of places awarded and the amount paid for each place will be determined by the weigh master based on the number of boats fishing.

On the day of the tournament, organizers will have food and drinks available for purchase and will hold a live auction. For more information, please contact Audrey Raziano (985) 785-8411 or (985) 703-0135 or April Sellers (504) 756-7020 or email fishingforfrankie@gmail.com.
