The West St. Charles Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is anticipating a big turnout for their annual banquet and fundraiser to be held Thursday, Jan. 18. “We’re going to have a lot of people from other chapters because it is the last DU banquet of the year,” says banquet head Jake Lemmon.

The auction will feature four shotguns this year, including a special “gun of the year” to be announced.

“It promises to be a great event,” says Lemmon, “But more importantly, it gives hunters a chance to get to get together and socialize while supporting DU.

Wayne Schexnayder will cater this year’s feast, which will include fried catfish, pulled pork and beef brisquet.

The event will be held at he VFW hall in Luling. Doors open at 5:30 pm and dinner begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or you may purchase them by contacting Jake Lemmon 504-701-5253.
