The most prestigious fishing tournament in the world will be held out of Bayou Segnette State Park this weekend, and there are several ways that residents can get a piece of the action.
Featuring the top retailers in the outdoors industry, the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo allows fishing fans to browse through the latest and greatest in outdoors and fishing products and technology.
The expo opens on Friday, Feb. 18 at the Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Doors are open Friday from 12-8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
One special stop should be the B.A.S.S. Booth, where visitors can get tips from pro anglers, learn about all the benefits of B.A.S.S. membership and get up-to-the-minute coverage from the Louisiana Delta.
The public is also invited to attend the Bassmaster Classic weigh ins Friday-Sunday.
Doors open at 3 p.m. each day at the New Orleans Arena.
There will be pre-show entertainment available each day.
