DHS takes third in Baton Rouge

The Destrehan boys finished third in a tournament at Central of Baton Rouge, and were 30 seconds away from playing in the championship game.

The Wildcats (11-2) knocked around Belaire 61-33 in the first round, but lost a 58-60 heartbreaker to Natchitoches Central in the second round that pushed the team into the consolation game.

Destrehan then blew past Redemptorist 78-42 to finish in third place.

“I’m a little disappointed we didn’t play in the championship,” Destrehan head coach Todd Bourg said. “We led the whole game against  Natchitoches Central and lost it in the last 30 seconds.”
