Destrehan seniors Kurt McCune and Sam Carriere will continue their baseball careers in college after both signed with schools on Wednesday. McCune, who excels both in the box and on the stripe, will play for LSU next year. McCune finished the 2009 season with a 6-3 record and a 2.86 ERA. He also hit seven homeruns and recorded 41 RBIs while batting .371.
Carriere, a star fielder for the Wildcats, has signed to play for Nicholls State. Carriere hit four homeruns last year and recorded 20 RBIs. He finished the 2009 season with a .269 batting average.
