DHS falls to Ehret, 66-49

Despite 18 points from B.J. Singleton, the Destrehan Wildcats couldn’t get past John Ehret, falling 66-49.

Ehret, who is 10-1 on the season, jumped out to an early 13-4 lead in the first quarter, and stretched the advantage to 33-13 at the half. The Wildcats played much better in the second half, cutting into the Ehret lead in the third before outscoring the Patriots 19-10 in the fourth.

But it wasn’t enough.

Singleton led his squad with 18 points, while Kevin Smith added 13. Jared Mack finished with 7 points, Dillon Dent added 5 and Nick Knight finished with 4.

With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 10-5 on the season. They will play Salmen and Chalmette before beginning district play against Dutchtown on Jan. 18.
