Destrehan stifles Hahnville

Strong defense leads to a win

Destrehan’s defense was consistent and confident in every move they made on the field in their game against the Hahnville Tigers. With the help of Donald DeLatte, Luis Valladares, Robbie Anderson and Johathan Cabrera, the Wildcats walked away with a 4-0 victory. Three minutes into the game the Wildcats set the tone with Donald DeLatte scoring the first goal off a throw-in from Justin Weyenberg. The Wildcats dominated the field and, 20 minutes later scored again. This time Robbie Anderson scores off a throw-in from Luis Valladares.

With TJ Favaloro playing in backfield, ready to attack the ball, the Tigers had an arduous task of getting the ball down field and keeping it there. Few goal attempts were made by the Tigers, however, Destrehan’s goalie, Chris Tyree made sure they were unsuccessful. Hahnville’s goalie, Ryan Waters, had 8 saves. Brothers Devin and Drew Samaha of Hahnville, navigated the ball many times to the Tigers end of the field, but the Wildcats defensive made it difficult to produce a score.

Luis Valladares scored the 3rd goal for the Wildcats along with Jonathan Cabrera who fired the final goal to seal the win. This wins keeps Destrehan undefeated in district with two games remaining.
