Destrehan names new boys, girls head basketball coaches

Destrehan High School has named new head coaches for their boys and girls basketball teams, announcing the appointments of Troy Green Sr. and Jenn Miller to lead those respective programs at Wednesday night’s meeting of the St. Charles Parish School Board.

Green succeeds former boys basketball coach Todd Bourg and brings a state championship pedigree. The coaching veteran of 19 years spent 15 of those as a head coach, eight of those at White Castle where he led his teams to two state championship victories (in 2017 and 2018) and four district championships. He is a former Class 1A LSWA Coach of the Year. Green played college basketball at Southeastern Louisiana.

Miller has coached the past seven years at Lusher Charter after 12 years of coaching in Florida, where she led her program to the Florida Class 5A Final Four in just her fourth season as a head coach. She succeeds former Ladycats head coach Meagan Stock. She played college basketball at Florida State from 1995 to 1997 after a stellar prep career in her hometown of Charleston, West Virginia At Charleston Catholic High School, she earned honorable mention All-American honors in USA Today for her final two years, as she emerged as one of her state’s most dangerous scorers.
