Destrehan falls in second round after Acadiana comeback

The Destrehan soccer team held a 2-0 halftime lead over No. 4 Acadiana in the regional round of the playoffs, but Acadiana rallied with three straight goals at the end of the second to eliminate the Wildcats.

Destrehan scored on a free kick from 25 yards out to take a 1-0 lead, and extended it to 2-0 after knocking in a loose ball in the box.

Acadiana got on the board with a shot from midfield that bounced into the net to start the second half, but the Wildcats got the goal back when Jacob Johnson scored on a cross, tapping the ball into an empty net for a 3-1 advantage.

However, Acadiana tied the game on a late penalty kick, and scored again with four minutes left to get the win.
